This industrial - and cultural city lies at the east of the country between two big cities, Ljubljana & Maribor. This city was serious damaged in the Second World War. Afterwards Celje developed to a modern industry city.
In spite of the 2nd WO Celje has some splendid buildings. In the Daniëls church you find beuatiful pictures and coloured frescos. Beside the old town centre, the castle of Celje & the museum of Celje are also worth a visit. For a beautiful view on the city you must go to the defence tower of the castle.
