Slovenia, a country in the middle of Europe, which became independent in 1991. The country is only 20 000km² large, but there are numerous curiosities. The most beautiful city, Piran has been lain to the Adriatic coast.

Beside the splendid squares & narrow streets you find some interesting museums. The bell in the bell tower of the Georgius cathedral & the tartinisquare are the most beautiful curiosities. The lake of Bled & the lake of Bohinj are very popular destinations for tourists. You also find many caves in Slovenia. Most well-known & touristic are the caves of Postojna. The caves of Skocjanske are the most beautiful. In 1986, UNESCO exclaimed the caves to globally cultural heritage.

In the centre of the capital city, Ljubljana, where many jugendstilhouses stand, the Ljubljanica river flows. The old town part is worth walking by.

Moreover you find many museums of which the national museum, one of the most known is in the capital. You may not miss the castle of Ljubljana . The city counts more than 200,000 inhabitants but worth visiting.

For who loves horses, a visit to the world most famous stud farm of Lipica is worth it! More than 4 centuries, the snow-white lippizanerhorses are bred there. In Maribor the 2nd largest city of Slovenia, you find a square with a Mariapillar that refers to the epidemic of the 17th century. The region is also known for its wine fields. At the north of Slovenia you find the Julische alpen. In the winter you find there a lot of tourists skiing. The most known ski centre is Kranjska Gora.
