Novo Mesto situated in the south of Slovenia beside the river Krka. It is the most important cultural city of the region Dolenjska.
In the Muzejska, one of the oldest streets of the city, you find a large archaeologically - and ethnographic museum, called the Dolenjski museum.
On top of a steep rock you can admire the Franciscan cloister. Beside a valuable library, you can visit an art collection.
For people who like to visit churches, there is the Nicolaas church, a splendid church which dominates the beautiful view. In the church you find a marvelous altar of the famous Italian painter Tintoretto.
